How to make Pop-a-Cob popcorn

There are multiple methods to make popcorn in the microwave. In this video recipe, we will demonstrate how to make microwavable popcorn using Pop-a-Cob by ZaraMama. It's quick, easy, and 100% GMO free. Perfect for a movie night or as an alternative snack.

  • ZaraMama Pop-a-Cob popcorn (any variety)
  • Seasoning



Step 1

Unpack and place the cob lengthways in the provided microwave bag.

Step 2

Tie the bag using the provided tie allowing maximum room for the corn to pop.

Step 3

Place the bag in the microwave and set the power to 800W, then cook for 1.5 to 2 minutes until popping slows to 2 seconds per pop. If the bag stops moving, adjust its position and resume popping.

Step 4

When popping has finished remove the bag from the microwave and empty into a large bowl. Handle with care and keep away from the face as the bag and cob will be hot.

Step 5

Detach any popped corn left on the cob. Some kernels may remain, however, do not attempt to cook further as it may result in scorching. Remove and dispose of the cob.

Step 6

Snip the bag open, empty popcorn into a bowl, add seasoning to taste, shake, and enjoy.

Seasoning ideas

We opted for seasoning with freshly ground sea salt; however, there are many more ways to add flavour to your popcorn.

  • Sweet - Add sugar or drizzle honey with a little butter
  • Spicy - Add salt and butter plus a pinch of chilli powder for a spicy kick
  • Tangy - Add a pinch of chilli powder with freshly squeezed lime juice for a citrus tang with a kick
